Jake Boldman
Jake is a graduate from the University of North Texas where he was a part of the jazz program and played lead trumpet in the One O’Clock Lab Band. During his time there he was an active member of the Dallas music scene freelancing with touring groups like Aretha Franklin, big bands, cover groups, Latin ensembles, as well as teaching private lessons and sectionals in the metroplex. He also was part of multiple recording projects for groups including Korn, Meghan Trainor, and the North Texas Lab bands.
After finishing his undergraduate degree, Jake moved to Colorado to pursue a master’s degree in jazz performance from the University of Denver. Since graduating, he teaches lessons and sectionals at schools across the city of Denver, plays with the Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra, H2 Big Band, Conjunto Colores, La Candela, Boulder Brass, recorded trumpet on Stevie Wonder and Ariana Grande's song “Faith” for the movie Sing!, and plays in the Broadway musicals at the DCPA, most notably the Pre-Broadway opening of Disney’s Frozen.
Jake is available for recording both in-person and remote, touring, lessons, sectionals, and freelancing work. He plays a Bach 37 trumpet with a Blackburn 15L-348 lead pipe, a Yamaha 6310 Flugelhorn, an L.A. Benge Piccolo with Blackburn pipes, and Bob Reeves mouthpieces.
