Jon Gauer
Jon Gauer is a trombonist who's equally at home in the symphony orchestra, jazz ensemble, brass quintet, or rock & roll band. Formerly a full-time freelance musician and lesson instructor in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, Gauer now brings his life and his musical career to the Denver area.
Gauer's origins in Montana led him to connect with the bands Cure for the Common, Shakewell, The Dusty Pockets, and The Hawthorne Roots, all performing exciting original music featuring a 3-member horn section (trumpet, trombone, and saxophone).
He has also performed with a number of symphony orchestras, including the Amarillo, Abilene, and Midland-Odessa symphonies in Texas, the Billings Symphony in Montana, and the Colorado College Summer Festival Orchestra in Colorado Springs.
Gauer holds Bachelor of Music (2013) and Master of Music (2015) degrees from the University of North Texas, where he was a member of the One O'Clock Jazz Lab Band, Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, Trombone Consortium, and the award-winning "U-Tubes" Jazz Trombone Ensemble, as well a variety of brass chamber music groups.
